Product Description

Glygel Contraceptive Jelly is a spermicidal contraceptive, which means that it kills sperm. It should be used along with a barrier method of contraception, such as a condom or vaginal diaphragm, in order to prevent pregnancy. Spermicidal contraceptives such as Glygel will kill any sperm that may escape from a condom or get round a diaphragm, and so will provide more effective contraception. Glygel Contraceptive Jelly is unscented, colourless and stainless.

Directions For Use

The gel should be inserted into the vagina using a Vaginal Applicator.

For use with a condom: The gel should be spread evenly over a condom once this is on the penis.

For use with a diaphragm: The gel should be spread evenly over the inner surface of your diaphragm which will be in contact with your cervix. Make sure you also spread it along the outside rim of your diaphragm to prevent any sperm from getting past the edge. If using a diaphragm, this should be put in place inside the vagina before sexual intercourse and left there for at least six to eight hours after sexual intercourse. If you have sexual intercourse again during this time, you must apply more Glygel or another spermicidal without removing the diaphragm. Warning: your diaphragm should not be left in your vagina for longer than 24 hours. There is no need to wash your vagina (douching) after sexual intercourse. However, if you wish to do so, you must wait for at least six hourse after intercourse.
